Running a Pack
The Cub Scout Pack is completely volunteer-driven. The chartered organization provides some resources such as meeting places, utilities, storage, and community involvement. For the most part, the day-to-day administration of the pack is performed by adult volunteers. Headed by a committee chairperson, the Cub Scout Pack 285 Committee is composed of registered volunteer leaders as well as any and all interested adults. The Committee normally meets for about an hour every other month; normally at 6:00 pm, before our Den Meeting on the third Tuesday. The Pack needs adults to participate in planning 2017-2018 activities for the Cub Scouts. Please let your son’s Den leader know if you are interested in participating. All are welcome!
The Committee discusses scheduling, finances, programming, coordination, advancement, special activities… Anything related to keeping a Cub Scout Pack alive and healthy is fair game!
Parents are encouraged to attend committee meetings in order to provide direction and to ensure that the Scouting program meets the needs of their boys. The current registered leadership can be found here.
Prior years’ minutes are available.
